Dr. Kimberly Sippel attended Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts, graduating with honors in Biochemical Sciences. She received her medical degree with the Alpha Omega Alpha honor distinction from the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York City. Following two years of training in general surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Sippel completed ophthalmology residency training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. She then completed the fellowship program in Cornea and External Disease at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, and is a recipient of both a Heed Foundation fellowship, as well as the American Ophthalmological Society Knapp Foundation fellowship award. Dr. Sippel also pursued several years of vision-related laboratory investigation as a Research Fellow at both the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and the Schepens Eye Research Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Sippel is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Sippel is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Weill Cornell Medicine and the NewYork Presbyterian Hospital. Prior to joining the Weill Cornell faculty, Dr. Sippel was with Cornea Consultants of Boston/ Laser Eye Consultants of Boston and had an active teaching role at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. Her interests include laser vision correction surgery, corneal transplantation and cataract surgery, corneal disease and dry eye, and conjunctival tumors.Kimberly C. Dr. Goldman earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Denison University and has a master’s degree in Psychology in Education from Columbia University Teacher’s College. Dr. Goldman earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University where she received extensive training in mindfulness-based interventions, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Dr. Goldman completed her predoctoral internship training at UCSF/San Francisco General Hospital in which she was rigorously trained in evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions with children and families. Following internship, Dr. Goldman completed her postdoctoral fellowship training at Stanford University School of Medicine/Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital where she provided individual, couples, and group therapy to parents in the NICU and integrated care to women during the perinatal period. She is rostered in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and has received training in Perinatal Child-Parent Psychotherapy (P-CPP) to work with infants, young children, and parents exposed to trauma and adversity. Dr. Goldman has also received training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). In psychotherapy, Dr. Goldman often integrates evidence-based approaches to meet individual patients’ needs and goals. At Weill Cornell, Dr. Goldman is contributing to the development of a collaborative care model with colleagues in Obstetrics to better serve the mental health needs of women and families during the perinatal period, following pregnancy and infant loss, and through infertility treatment. Dr. Goldman is also working on developing clinical services to treat parents, infants, and young children in the outpatient setting as well as in the NICU at Weill Cornell/NYP. She is actively involved in education of psychology and psychiatry trainees related to perinatal, infant, and early childhood mental health at Weill Cornell. Dr. Goldman also collaborates with colleagues on research in these areas and presents at national and international conferences.
