Founded in 1909, St. Christopher s Inn is a residential shelter and alcohol and drug treatment center that offers health care services to facilitate physical, emotional and spiritual healing. It provides chemical dependency treatment, primary health care and temporary housing solutions. The center also offers rehabilitative services for men in crisis. St. Christopher s Inn provides acupuncture, pastoral counseling, needs assessment, physical examination, and individual treatment and discharge planning services. It offers psychiatric services for individuals with anxieties, depressions, and mood, bipolar, panic and post traumatic stress disorders. The center additionally provides family counseling, individual and group therapy, and HIV education and testing services.

Established in 1982 as The Weekend Center, the Lexington Center for Recovery, is a nonprofit organization that serves Westchester and Dutchess counties in the state of New York. It provides mental health and clinical care services to people who suffer from chemical dependency and substance abuse. The Lexington Center for Recovery also offers spiritual, anger management and relapse prevention services and conducts one-on-one counseling sessions for individuals, families and senior citizens. It provides medication monitoring, psychiatric evaluation, and vocational and educational assessment services. The organization also offers a women's intensive program that focuses on addiction recovery, parenting classes and on-site child care services for women participants with children. The Lexington Center for Recovery operates more than 15 health care units and one of its facilities is located in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
