The Maurice D. Hinchey Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area is a federally-recognized National Heritage Area located in Albany, NY. Through collaboration with various stakeholders, including the National Park Service, government agencies, non-profit groups, and private partners, the Heritage Area works to interpret, preserve, and celebrate the culturally and naturally significant resources of the Hudson River Valley.
Managed by the Hudson River Valley Greenway, the Heritage Area encourages public stewardship and economic activity at the local and regional level. Named in honor of the late Congressman Maurice D. Hinchey, who played a pivotal role in its creation, the Heritage Area is dedicated to promoting the rich history and environmental importance of the Hudson Valley.
