Hillsdale House had been a part of Columbia County since 1797. Originally a stagecoach stop and post office (as well as a meeting place for revolutionary politicians), the tavern serves lunch, dinner and brunch on Sundays (GF, Vegan/vegetarian friendly) with a full bar and 3 flat screen televisions which air sports and special events nightly. A private dining room seats 20 and can be reserved for small events. The inn above the tavern has 4 rooms with private bathrooms, some with kitchenettes, one with a private entrance and a loft bedroom – visit AirBnB and search for The Hillsdale House to check rates and availability.

Old time bar with rustic atmosphere and friendly service but my meal was very disappointing. Whole belly clams meal was all breading and no clams for $40.

This is a traditional old school tavern which you don't often find in the USA. I mean the building dates back to 1797! And the place was originally a stagecoach stop so its one of those places...

An old Stagecoach Inn . Go on a Friday or Saturday night and get their prime rib special with mashed potatoes and veggies ! Good pizza as well . Eat in the bar area or the charming dining room
