Phillip Bukberg, M.D. is an attending in the division of endocrinology at Lenox Hill Hospital, and the physician in charge of the endocrinology consultation service in the hospital. He graduated from Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn and completed his residency training at St. Vincent s Hospital in New York. Following residency, he completed two years of fellowship training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, followed by a 3-year NIH post-doctoral training grant in lipid metabolism at the Mount Sinai Medical Center of New York City. He then returned to St. Vincent s Hospital as an attending physician in the division of endocrinology, where he was in clinical practice and also involved in the training of endocrinology fellows until 2010. As director of the consultation service at the hospital, Dr. Bukberg is heavily involved in training the fellows in the program and remains busy helping to manage endocrine problems in the Lenox Hill inpatients. He also sees outpatients in the Northwell facility on West 15th Street in Chelsea. Although his practice includes most areas of endocrinology, his special interests are diabetes, nutrition, and lipid disorders.
