Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees
Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees (HWHR), founded in 1992, is dedicated to addressing the needs of Haitian refugees and immigrants in the United States who are fleeing persecution. Based in Flatbush, Brooklyn and led by Black women, HWHR integrates direct services with organizing and political education to advocate for the rights of Black migrants while combating anti-Black deportation, surveillance, and detention policies.
A project of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization, HWHR operates as a 501(c)(3) organization, ensuring that contributions made to its efforts are tax-deductible. Through its work, HWHR seeks to empower the Haitian community and promote social justice and equity for all migrants.
