Haitian Woman For Haitian
Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees (HWHR), established in 1992, serves the needs of Haitian refugees and immigrants in the United States who are fleeing persecution. Based in Flatbush, Brooklyn, and led by Black women, HWHR combines direct service, organizing, and political education to advocate for the rights of Black migrants while actively opposing anti-Black deportation and the surveillance and detention of migrants.
A project of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization, HWHR aims to empower and uplift the Haitian community through various programs and campaigns. Their work is crucial in the movement to defend the rights and dignity of Haitian refugees amid ongoing challenges.
