Gulam A. Manji, MD

Dr. Accordino graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor of science in Pre-medicine with minors in Health Policy and Administration and Biology. She completed her medical degree at The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. While in medical school she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society which recognizes high educational achievement. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center and her Medical Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Fellow. During that time, she was awarded a Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award and Merit Award. She also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Cancer-Related Population Sciences supported by the National Cancer Institute for her work in quality improvement and health outcomes research. Upon fellowship graduation she became an Assistant Professor of Medicine within the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Columbia University. Since her faculty appointment she has received grant funding from multiple agencies including: The American Society of Clinical Oncology, The HOPE Foundation, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The American Cancer Society, and the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute. Dr. Accordino is currently involved in patient care, clinical research, education, and quality improvement.Dr. Accordinos research aims to improve the quality and delivery of cancer care, and cancer survivorship. Dr. Accordino participates in clinical trials at the local, national, and international level. She also has experience leading multicenter cancer trials through the SWOG Cooperative Group. The overall goal of her research is to improve quality and outcomes within oncology.

Dr. Christine Kim Garcia is the Frode-Jensen Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Her laboratory studies the genetic basis of lung disease, including pulmonary fibrosis. She is the Chief of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine Division within the Department of Medicine, a member of the Center for Precision Medicine and Genomics and an affiliate of the Institute for Genomic Medicine.

Dr. Raza is a Professor of Medicine and Director of the MDS Center at Columbia University in New York, NY. She started her research in Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) in 1982 and moved to Rush University, Chicago, Illinois in 1992, where she was the Charles Arthur Weaver Professor in Oncology and Director, Division of Myeloid Diseases. The MDS Program, along with a Tissue Repository containing more than 50,000 samples from MDS and acute leukemia patients was successfully relocated to the University of Massachusetts in 2004 and to Columbia University in 2010. Before moving to New York, Dr. Raza was the Chief of Hematology Oncology and the Gladys Smith Martin Professor of Oncology at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester. She has published the results of her laboratory research and clinical trials in prestigious, peer-reviewed journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, Nature, Blood, Cancer, Cancer Research, the British Journal of Hematology, Leukemia, and Leukemia Research. Dr. Raza serves on numerous national and international panels as a reviewer, consultant, and advisor and is the recipient of a number of awards.
