Guild School

The Heilbrunn Guild School is a nonsectarian educational institution that serves the academic and extracurricular needs of students who suffer from visual impairments and additional disabilities. Its curriculum focuses on work internships, job placement, community-based activities and person-centered educational planning services for individuals between the ages of 5 and 21. The Heilbrunn Guild School offers classes in Braille, language arts, math, science and social studies. It also provides instruction in sign language, adaptive physical education, computer technology, music and augmentative communication. The school offers vocational training and individual and group counseling services, as well as art, physical, occupational and speech therapies. Located in New York City, The Heilbrunn Guild School is a part of The Jewish Guild for the Blind, which is a nonprofit social welfare organization.
