Green Acre Farm & Nursery

Green Acre Farm & Nursery is in it's 31st year in North Greece. The farm market/garden center was founded by Jack and Millie Edmond in 1978. Jack ( BS Cornell University ), served as the merchandising manager for all of Agway Gardens. He then seized the opportunity to fulfill his dream. In the early days, we carried a complete line of gardening plants, nursery stock, and hardgoods, as well as, Hainsworth eggs, Perry's ice cream, milk and bread. Thanks to community support we have flourished over the years. Although the dairy sales have ceased, we now carry a complete line of nursery stock, an enormous selection of perennials, an unending supply of bagged goods, Turf Line's best fertilizers, and beautiful bedding plants, and that's just in the spring! In the summer months we continue the tradition of selling only the best homegrown produce from local growers. The fall brings a flurry of excitement. Working in cooperation with our neighbor, Green Acre Farm, we celebrate the apple harvest for nearly two full months. This includes, fresh pressed apple cider, homemade pies, pumpkins, crafts and of course, the famous fry cakes! Our season does not end though, until Christmas Eve when the fresh cut trees, handmade wreaths, poinsettias and the garlands have all sold. Green Acre Farm & Nursery continues to be a family run business. Although Jack Sr. ( 1950-2002 ) is no longer with us, he has taught us well over the years and the Edmond family is ever present. You can still find Millie of course, around the store, touching base with old friends and sharing her wealth of gardening knowledge, as well as tackling the endless office work. Jack Jr. manages the nursery and can diagnose and remedy almost any garden ailment. Janice can be found managing the store and answering fertilizer and chemical questions. Last but certainly not least, Joe "The Hummingbird" is always busy managing the greenhouse, answering questions and being Mr. Fix-It. The Edmond family is not the only family employed at Green Acre, the majority of our employees have a long history of siblings and/or relatives who have worked here as well. At Green Acre, we pride ourselves on our knowledge, our service, our quality, our compassionate ears and our friendly smiles.
