Our roots go back to an Irish mill called The Ulster Weaving Co., Ltd which was started over 150 years ago by John Sloan Larmor from a small weaving division of the Ulster Spinning Co., Ltd William Hogg Larmor, youngest son of John Sloan Larmor came to the United States and started the present New York importing company in 1933, then also called the Ulster Weaving Co., Ltd Both the Belfast and New York companies recently changed their names to better reflect their corporate purpose and independence. Our reputation for quick, courteous service and high quality products is well known. Ulster's longevity ( oldest US Linen Company of its kind, still active ) is the result of placing the customer's needs first and carrying ample stock of basic linens for swift delivery. Joseph Dever Larmor, President & Managing Director, active with Ulster since 1965. Mr. Larmor holds a Bachelors degree in Science and served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1969 completing his tour as a Chief Engineering Officer. His engineering skills help him evaluate the capabilities of all the mills Ulster Linen deals with. His scientific background gives him an understanding of the many facets required for the proper preparation of quality linen. And his best asset is the wealth of knowledge his Father passed on to him over the many years they worked together. He is a family man with a wife and four children. His hobbies include sailing, tennis and skiing. Yoselin is the Director of Piece Goods Division. Her drive to fill the needs of her customers is winning her a great reputation. If there is something her customer needs she will deliver or make sure the President of the company delivers ( where feasibly possible ). Nash keeps your shipments going out as fast as possible. He probably knows the different weights of linen as well as Dever does, and his loyalty to Ulster Linen is appreciated as well. Stella, has an honors Bachelor degree in Business Administration. She has great customer relation skills and you will enjoy speaking with her on the phone. She also takes care of much of the paperwork, along with Denise, and keeps everyone laughing. Kathy, our accountant, manages all the financial aspects necessary to keep the office running smoothly - and she doesn't miss anything!
