Founded in 1904, Greater New York Hospital Association is a trade association representing more than 280 not-for-profit hospitals and continuing care facilities, both voluntary and public, in the metropolitan area and throughout the State, as well as in New Jersey, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. It offers education programs on a variety of topics, including charitable care, billing and finance issues, mental health laws, patient privacy, and emergency preparedness and disaster planning. The center provides information on various legal issues and interpretation of statutory and regulatory laws. It is affiliated with the Continuing Care Leadership Coalition. Its affiliated companies include GNYHA Ventures, GNYHA Services, Nexera and Innovatix. Additionally, it offers group purchasing and consultation services for care providers. Founded in 1980, C rculo de la Hispanidad is a nonprofit agency that provides a range of social, educational, recreational, cultural, economic development and advisory services. It administers various crisis intervention, domestic violence, career, cultural, health, housing support, immigration and youth programs. The agency s housing support program includes rental assistance, case management and independent living skill services for individuals with mental illnesses. C rculo de la Hispanidad offers an education and literacy program that features career counseling, HIV prevention, vocational education, and computer and GED classes. It also maintains a help line that provides domestic violence support services, such as education and referral for the victims of domestic violence.
