Five Towns Early Learning Center

The Jewish Community Center operates early childhood centers, provides Jewish-based educational programs and undertakes community projects and support services. The center provides various services to senior citizens, such as assistance with daily living activities, personal support, meal and shelter programs and specialized therapeutic activities. The recreational activities offered at the center include music and dance programs, art classes, jewelry making, choral group, nutrition forum, bingo, knitting, book review, reading club, social action committee, poetry, outdoor trips, guest lectures and computer classes. It also offers a variety of athletic programs, including billiards, chess, board games, aerobics, and Pilates and yoga sessions. The amenities offered by the center include a fully equipped fitness center, gymnasium and a music institute. It also offers a variety of youth programs that include holiday trips, evening workshops, family activities and individual and group tutoring programs. Committee for Early Childhood Development, also known as CECD, is a nonprofit agency that offers a range of education, health and family programs. Its educational program includes the development of language and decision making skills for children through active involvement with peers and adults. The agency s child development program includes literacy, cognitive, social, emotional and physical development services. Committee for Early Childhood Development administers a nutrition program that features assistance from a nutritional consultant and is operated within the guidelines of the Department of Health s Child and Adult Care Food Program. The agency also conducts various parenting skills classes.
