Dr. Nicholas Nissirios is the creator and director of Metro Eye MD. Dr. Nissirios is a board certified Ophthalmologist specializing in Cataract, Cornea Transplantation and Refractive Surgery. He completed his medical school training at the University of Athens Medical School in Greece, followed by a 2-year post-doctoral research fellowship in Glaucoma at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NY and an Internal Medicine internship at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. He was also trained and is fully certified in the latest techniques in custom bladeless laser refractive surgery and corneal transplantation. Dr. Nissirios has been active in ophthalmic research, authoring many article publications, including being involved in multiple prospective and experimental research trials. He is an attending of Ophthalmology at the Nassau University Medical Center participating in the training of Ophthalmology residents. He is also an assistant attending of Ophthalmology at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital/Lenox Hill Hospital in New York city. Dr. Nissirios is member of numerous professional societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
