Jennifer Hong Kuo, MD

Dr. Chen is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of thoracic cancers including non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, and mesothelioma. She received her bachelor's degree in molecular biology from Princeton University and completed her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed both her internal medicine residency and medical oncology fellowship at Columbia University, where she served as Chief Fellow. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Chen has an interest in identifying novel therapies through clinical trials for patients with lung cancer and other tumor types. She received the Journal of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology in recognition of her work. Above all, Dr. Chen values her relationships with patients and their families and is dedicated to providing compassionate care that is tailored to each patient. Hyesoo Lowe, MD is a board-certified Endocrinologist at Columbia University, and the Medical Director of the Columbia Thyroid Center. Dr. Lowe has a special interest in thyroid disorders including thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, hyper and hypothyroidism, and thyroid illnesses in pregnancy. She has advanced training in thyroid ultrasound and fine needle aspiration biopsy and co-directs the Thyroid Biopsy Program, overseeing the Endocrine Thyroid Biopsy Fast Track. Dr. Lowe received her medical degree from the Weill Cornell Medical College, followed by residency in Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital, then completed her fellowship in Endocrinology at Columbia University Medical Center. She is actively involved in medical student education at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, and is also on the teaching faculty of the Endocrinology Fellowship program at Columbia, where she is the course director for the Thyroid Ultrasound and Biopsy Course. Her clinical practice is devoted to the care of thyroid conditions and she closely collaborates with her colleagues in Endocrine Surgery, Reproductive Endocrinology, Pathology, and Nuclear Medicine at Columbia. Dr. Lowe is committed to providing individualized patient-centered care and she has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor, listed in Castle Connollys Exceptional Women in Medicine, and featured among New York Magazine’s Top Doctors as well as NY Times Super Doctors. Dr. Roman Nowygrod is Professor of Surgery and specializes in Vascular Surgery including reconstructive arterial surgery, minimal access vascular surgery, surgical and medical management of venous disorders, renal transplantation and angioaccess. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his general surgical residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and a two year NIH research fellowship at the University of Minnesota where he earned a degree in Master of Science in experimental surgery. His research interests include prosthetic bypass graft modifications, improved techniques in bypass and venous surgery, coagulation management in vascular surgery and diseases, outcomes analyses in aortic, endovascular and peripheral vascular surgery and surgical education and training He is board certified in vascular surgery and general surgery. He is Director of the Vein disorder Treatment Center and Director of Columbia University Medical Student Surgical Education.
