Empowerment & Equity Through

The Empowerment Program is a Denver-based nonprofit organization dedicated to removing barriers to health, housing, education, and employment for individuals, primarily cis and transgender women with lived experiences in the criminal legal system and homelessness. Since its founding in 1986, the program has focused on holistic support, empowering participants to achieve their goals through trauma-informed and culturally responsive services.

Each year, the Empowerment Program supports approximately 3,000 participants through health programming, outreach, and various forms of social support, including housing and employment education. The organization believes that lasting change comes from incremental action, working alongside participants to foster healthier lives from the inside out.
