Champlain Adaptive Mounted

CHAMP, the Champlain Adaptive Mounted Program, is a renowned therapeutic riding program located in the picturesque town of South Hero, Vermont. Established in 1987, CHAMP is one of the first PATH International accredited programs in the state, offering equine-assisted therapies to individuals with disabilities. With certified instructors and dedicated volunteers, CHAMP provides a safe and nurturing environment for riders to improve their physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being through interactions with horses. Led by Executive Director Jean Desranleau, who has a lifelong passion for horses and teaching riding, CHAMP has been making a positive impact on the community since its inception. The program also benefits from the expertise of Sue Birmingham, an experienced horsewoman and certified instructor, who has been volunteering at CHAMP since 2005.
