Elie G. Aoun, M.D., M.R.O., is a triple board certified psychiatrist trained in general psychiatry (Brown University), addiction psychiatry (University of California in San Francisco) and forensic psychiatry (Combined Columbia and Cornell University program). He has additional expertise in neuro-psycho-endocrinology and psychotherapy. He serves as faculty at New York University and as attending psychiatrist at Bellevue Medical Center. In his private practice, he provides diagnostic evaluations and treatment for psychiatric disorders using psychotherapy (psychodynamic therapy, CBT, motivational interviewing), medication management (psychopharmacology) including Buprenorphine (Suboxone), and forensic evaluations for civil and criminal litigation, including serving as an expert witness. Dr. Aoun is an experienced clinician, educator, researcher, advocate and public policy consultant. His mission is to provide evidence based, culturally informed, patient centered psychiatric services. He received numerous awards, was a speaker at several professional meetings, and published multiple book chapters, policy papers, and scientific articles in prestigious peer reviewed journals. His work has been cited in the popular press, scientific journals, policy documents and amicus curiae briefs.
