The East Islip Historical Society, founded in 1992, is dedicated to researching, collecting, and preserving the unique history of the East Islip area, including Great River and Islip Terrace, for the benefit of students, researchers, scholars, and future generations.

Through regular meetings, a monthly newsletter, and various events, the Society aims to bring the past to life by sharing stories, photos, and presentations on a wide range of historical topics, from local landmarks and notable figures to the history of Long Island and Fire Island. They also actively contribute to the preservation of historical artifacts and landmarks in the community.
