Franziska Racker Centers, located in Ithaca, N.Y., offers a wide range of social and welfare services to physically and mentally disabled persons throughout the state. The center provides services, such as abuse prevention, parenting, counseling, drug and alcohol prevention, employee assistance programs, children s education, and in-home parenting of infants. It has various training institutes, consultation and child care centers. The organization provides programs for children coping with child abuse, foster placement, substance abuse, divorce and separation of parents, and psychiatric problems. It additionally organizes camps and school programs, such as group discussions, drug and alcohol prevention seminars and storytelling. The center offers 24-hour health care services.

HistorySince its 1925 founding, CCHS has engaged the community as a cultural partner providing perspective and context for understanding our unique past. Driven by its mission to inspire, CCHS collects, preserves, and interprets the history of our community through a dynamic series of public programs, exhibits, tours, publications and outreach efforts. Located in the historic 1882 James Suggett House, CCHS showcases curated selections from its rich collection of artifacts highlighting more than two centuries of Cortland stories. Adjacent to the museum, the Kellogg Memorial Research Center opens its irreplaceable archive of diaries, manuscripts, maps, photographs and ephemera to researchers and genealogists. Professional staff aids researchers in navigating public and private resources.
