Dead Drops is an innovative offline peer-to-peer file-sharing network that allows users to exchange files anonymously in public spaces. Established by Berlin-based media artist Aram Bartholl in October 2010, the initiative features USB flash drives embedded into walls and curbs, inviting anyone to drop or retrieve files freely.
Each Dead Drop is initially empty, equipped only with a readme.txt file that explains the project's concept. Participants are encouraged to install their own Dead Drops in various locations and share their contributions with the community.
