Dr. Michael Christensen, MD, is board-certified in Internal Medicine, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Christensen received his undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame, and his medical training at the University of Monterrey and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. After his internship, residency, and chief residency at Mount Sinai Hospital Services at Elmhurst City Hospital Queens, he stayed on in a faculty position in the Primary Care Residency Program. He was also appointed Medical Director of the hospital's diagnostic clinic, where care was provided to hundreds of patients daily from one of the most diverse communities in New York City. Dr. Christensen has been caring for his patients for more than 20 years. He received the "Excellence in Education Award" from the Undergraduate Medical Education and Primary Care at New York Medical College during his time of preceptorship. Dr. Christensen is fluent in Spanish and is a member of the American College of Physicians.

He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at NewYork-Presbyterian (Columbia/Weill Cornell), where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Scott trained in primary care sports medicine as a clinical fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. During his fellowship, he worked with dancers and musicians at the Boston Ballet, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Boston Arts Academy, and the Walnut Hill School for the Arts. He served as team physician for Northeastern University’s Division I women’s basketball team and the Newton South High School football team. Dr. Scott is a member of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Sciences, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
