79 MacDougal St # 81
New York, NY 10012
Caffe Dante has been a beacon for the community of Greenwich Village since it opened its doors in 1915. Now a registered New York City landmark, this modest meeting house has always attracted people from all walks of life: famous actors, writers and musicians from the down-at-heel beatnik generation, all of whom have found solace in its relaxed and unpretentious environs. Now in its latest incarnation as Dante, its new owners have breathed new life into the iconic space while retaining its historical integrity. The Italian restaurant and bar functions as an all-day affair, serving artisanal coffee, pastries, aperitivo, flatbreads, antipasti, and a seasonal produce-driven menu, plus world-class cocktails — including the absolute best Negroni in the city, according to New York Magazine.
