Daisy Young, D.O., is a California native who grew up in Los Angeles, California. She was inspired to follow in the footsteps of her father, who is also a physician. She received her medical degree from Touro University in Vallejo, California. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital where she was also chief resident. She completed fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Elmhurst, Queens. There she had the privilege of caring for patients of various ethnicities in a mostly underserved neighborhood. She is a member of multiple professional societies including the American Thoracic Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, American College of Chest Physicians, among many. Dr. Young is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Echocardiography. She has particular interests in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and interstitial lung disease. She is ecstatic to be joining the New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Pulmonary and Critical Care team, which has a strong mission towards serving the community of Brooklyn.

Her recent research experience includes the effect of obstructive sleep apnea on learning and memory in children, the clinical manifestations of children with sickle cell disease and periodic limb movements in sleep as well as to examine the health care utilization in children with long-term tracheostomy tubes who live at home.She is Fluent in English and German.
