Mercy Healthcare Center offers various nursing care services. The center provides physical, occupational and speech therapies to residents to reach their high level of potential. It has more than 150 bedrooms and semiprivate and private bedrooms. The center has New York state-certified nursing assistants. Its apartment has emergency call systems, telephone and cable television hookups. The center s services include pastoral care, religious, dental, podiatry, audiology and laundry services. Additionally, it provides a beauty salon and barbershop to residents. The center has license from the New York State Department of Health and approved by Medicare and Medicaid. It is a member of the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. Mercy Healthcare Center is located in Tupper Lake, N.Y.

Northern Regional Center for Independent Living (NRCIL) in Watertown, NY is a community-based disability rights and resource center. We were started in 1987 with a grant from the New York State education department, through the work of a grassroots group called Citizens United for the Removal of Barriers (CURB) and the Disabled Persons Action Organization. We are now part of a network of 37 independent living centers in New York State and over 450 centers across the nation.
