Cristiano Oliveira, M.D.

Dr. Ciralsky is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medicine. Her practice interests include corneal diseases and corneal surgery, advanced cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and comprehensive ophthalmology.Dr. Ciralsky received her undergraduate education at Brown University where she graduated Magna cum laude. She also received the Anne Crosby Emery Fellowship upon graduation, an award given to two graduating seniors for scholarly ability and excellence of character. She then obtained her M.D. from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She continued her training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, where she completed her Ophthalmology Residency and Cornea Fellowship. During her fellowship, Dr. Ciralsky was elected Chief Clinical Fellow of the Cornea service. She was also a recipient of the prestigious Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship.Dr. Ciralsky has been recognized as a gifted educator. She was awarded Fellow of the Year, an award given by the residents of Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary for dedication and contribution to resident education. She is also actively involved in multiple research endeavors.Dr. Ciralsky is currently accepting new patients. After graduating magna cum laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry/biophysics, Dr. Haqqie graduated from Albany Medical College cum laude. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alphahonor society her junior year of medical college. She completed her residencyat Albany Medical College where she was selected to serve as chief resident in her final year and was awarded the Robert Reinecke research award. Dr. Haqqie then went on to complete her fellowship in cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, New York.Dr. Haqqie was previously the assistant director of the Wills Eye Hospital Emergency Department. During her time at Wills Eye Hospital, she was the recipient of the Residency Advocacy Award in 2021 and 2023. She also received the Exemplary Teacher Award from the national organization, Real World Ophthalmology. Dr. Haqqie has been recognized as a gifted educator and has astrong interest in teaching the next generation of ophthalmologists.Dr. Haqqie is author and co-author of numerous journal articles and national presentations. Her areas of clinical and research interest include ocularsurface disease, cataract surgery, and ocular emergencies.Dr. Haqqie is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons, and is an active member of various professional societies. Dr. Paul Petrakos is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medicine. He is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist, specializing in the evaluation and treatment glaucoma, including medical management, laser, and surgical procedures. He also performs cataract surgery and is up-to-date on the latest advances in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).A native New Yorker, Dr. Petrakos graduated from Stony Brook University before attending the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. Here he served as an Academic Medicine Scholar and received a masters degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Sciences.Dr. Petrakos completed his residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College. He then continued his training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, completing his glaucoma fellowship and receiving specialized training in trabeculectomy, glaucoma drainage device implantation, laser trabeculoplasty and iridotomy, complex cataract extraction, laser-assisted cataract extraction, implantation of astigmatic (toric) and multi-focal intraocular lenses, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.Dr. Petrakos is committed to providing personalized glaucoma and cataract care supplemented by the newest technologies, instruments, and techniques. He is an author and co-author of a number of journal articles and book chapters. His areas of clinical and research interest include ocular imaging, medical and surgical treatments of glaucoma.
