Community Counseling & Mediation, also known as CCM, is a social service organization that provides a range of counseling, mental health, education and housing support services for at-risk children, youths and families. Founded in 1982, it offers substance abuse outpatient treatment, academic assistance, immigrant cultural adjustment; anger management, and teenage pregnancy and AIDS prevention services. The organization administers various rehabilitation, case management, therapeutic foster care and adoption programs. The center is licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, New York State Office of Substance Abuse and New York State Office of Children and Family Services. It provides treatment services in various areas, including mental health, substance abuse, alcoholism, and youth and family services. The agency offers treatment and prevention services for chemical dependency and domestic violence. Established in 1977, the center was founded by the Nassau County Department of Drug and Alcohol Addiction. It additionally provides a variety of individual, group and family counseling, case management, support groups and after-school programs. The center also organizes educational workshops, family trips and summer camps.
