A family is only as strong as their story and our began long before our doors opened. For over a decade Claudette Flatow was teaching intimate cooking classes to neighbors out of her small Rockaway Kitchen, dreaming of the day she could turn her culinary talents into a rewarding venture. That venture was Cuisine by Claudette, a casual health-conscious cafe and provisions store that has been a part of the Rockaway community since 2012. Offering made-from-scratch baked goods, gourmet coffee, and mouth-watering food made fresh from quality ingredients, the store was only open for six months before Hurricane Sandy flooded it along with many other local businesses. Choosing to rebuild after such devastation was a challenging choice, but Claudette was determined to show her two sons, John and Yarden, that shying away from your goals and dreams is not an option; you've got to make it happen.
