Ok- I love it when this occurs in NYC; I happen to be walking right by a massive Catholic Church when mass is starting. So the inside is stunning, yet lacking any and all pretension. Nice combo....

A lovely church that is worth stopping into. Even if you are not Christian by persuasion, you can appreciate the aesthetic, as well as the solitude.
