Chautauqua County Social Service

The Chautauqua County Office of Probation is a county government-operated division that provides probation supervision, family court intake services. Located in Jamestown, N.Y., the division offers background investigation services, as well as screens pretrial defendants to return to normal life. It also works with juveniles and their families to provide intervention services to avoid further court action. The Chautauqua County Office of Probation utilizes electronic home monitoring equipment to restrict the movement of juveniles and adult felons. In addition, the division provides support and guidance services to victims. It offers employment-related and drug and alcohol abuse treatment services. The Chautauqua County Office of Probation is a part of the Chautauqua County Department of Human Services, which operates through environmental health, mental hygiene, youth bureau and public health departments.
