Charles Carmine Conte, MD, is a surgical oncologist with over three decades of experience. He specializes in every type of cancer, including breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancers and melanoma. Joining Northwell in 2004, Dr. Conte sees patients at Northwell Health Physician Partners Surgical Oncology at Lake Success, part of Monter Cancer Center. "Cancer doesn't follow any rules-every case is unique and complex," says Dr. Conte. "That's why we take a comprehensive approach for each patient. We have surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists, as well as access to many diagnostic tools and clinical trials, all at this one center." He is also affiliated with many Northwell hospitals for his patients' convenience.Dr. Conte trained at institutions across the Northeast, attending medical school at Dartmouth and completing a residency at Hartford Hospital and a fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He is an associate professor of surgery at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and teaches surgical oncology residents at Northwell. "I really enjoy teaching because students and residents are always questioning things," he says. "Explaining my decisions to them helps keep me sharp as a doctor."When it comes to his patients, Dr. Conte is passionate about delivering personalized care. "I love the challenge of putting the best plan together for each individual person," he says. "Seeing the positive impact it has on their lives is very rewarding."

She completed her internal medicine residency at Flushing Medical Center and fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at North Shore University Hospital. She is an active member of the Society for Gynecologic Oncology, Society for Immunotherapy in Cancer, American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology as well as a member of the Ovarian Cancer committee for the national Gynecologic Oncology Group.

Nagashree Seetharamu, MD, MBBS

Nagashree Seetharamu, MD, MBBS, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, Medical Oncology and Hospice/Palliative medicine, she specializes in cancers of the head and neck and thoracic malignancies (lung cancer, mesothelioma, thymic tumors). She maintains an active clinical practice at the Monter Cancer Center where she focuses on providing compassionate, personalized, evidence-based multidisciplinary care. Dr. Seetharamu has established her reputation at the national level through her active involvement, and leadership within influential oncology organizations that steer the direction of clinical cancer care and research across the United States, and globally. She is a full member of both the Cancer Prevention Committee and Respiratory Committee of Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology. This is a national, NCI-sponsored, cooperative group that develops, fund and conducts clinical trials at many academic and community oncology centers across the country. In her position on these committees, she collaborates with clinical research experts across the country to establish standards-of-care, oversees the conduct of existing clinical trials, develops innovative and impactful hypotheses, and formulate future clinical trials. Dr. Seetharamu is the institutional principal investigator on over 10 clinical trials, has co-authored over 50 publications and book chapters and is a sought after speaker at various regional, national and international events related to Head and Neck and Thoracic cancer. Dr. Seetharamu is also Associate Program Director of the Medical Oncology and Hematology Fellowship Program for the Northwell Health Cancer Institute. In this role, she provides hands-on involvement in the recruitment, education and mentorship of future generations of physicians. Dr. Seetharamu trained in internal medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and in hematology/oncology at New York University Medical Center.
