History

CVI was started to insure that when a consumer buys a used vehicle from a dealer, third party or other outlet, they are guaranteed to get a good, solid, running vehicle. We've all heard or experienced the horror stories. Most (dealer) used cars are trade-ins. People don't typically trade-in their vehicle because it's in great shape. They often trade them in because there are potential problems that are ready to happen and they don't want the headache, or because they know the warranty is up and they want out before the trouble starts. This is also the reason many private parties sell their cars. Dealers know exactly what they are selling to you. They know the condition of every vehicle they acquire. They have to. They are putting a dollar value on the vehicle especially if it's a trade in which is most likely the case. They just want to move it as quickly as possible. That's why they try to sell you an aftermarket warranty. That warranty may be a false sense of security.
