HistoryHeart Matters NYC Counseling exists to provide professional Gospel-Centered therapy to individuals, couples, families and groups.In my approach to therapy, I use different experiential methods. I am Certified as an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, have advanced training in AEDP for Couples, Coherence therapy and other forms of experiential therapies to provide compassionate care and promote holistic transformation. I help clients to draw upon their Christian faith as a vibrant power and resource for a flourishing life. I delight in helping my clients to retell their stories of trauma, tragedy and loss to new stories of grace, redemption and transformation.SpecialtiesAs your therapist, I come alongside with curiosity and compassion to try to understand your suffering. Alleviating your suffering often means going deeper into your story, to identify and understand patterns of relating, loving, coping, adapting and navigating your world. And we go deeper still, to explore matters of the heart -- your deep desires and struggles, your quest for identity, significance and purpose. As we discover and access your resilience, specifically as it relates to your Christian faith, we seek to undo the survival patterns and tend to the wounds from the past that fuel some of your struggles. Together we seek to expand your God-given capacities to experience and express a flourishing life. And throughout we re-author your story to be one of grace, hope and transformation. The mission of Heart Matters NYC Counseling is to provide competent and compassionate counseling to people from diverse walks of life with the goal of alleviating suffering, exploring matters of the heart, retelling life stories and growing toward a Gospel-centered life that is transformed from the inside out.
