Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights is one of the United States largest Catholic civil rights organizations. Founded in 1973, the Catholic league defends the right of Catholics to participate in American public life. It provides various services, including defending the right of the Church to promote its teachings, defending the rights of students and employees in schools and on the job, offering testimonies before legislative bodies, overseeing Catholic interests with respect to public policy initiatives, and providing informed perspectives on Catholic civil rights issues to officials in government, media and educational sectors.
