Carl Bazil completed his undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by a combined MD/PhD program at Emory University, with a doctorate in pharmacology. He was a resident and chief resident in Neurology at New York University, and completed his fellowship in Epilepsy/EEG at the Neurological Institute of New York.He was then Assistant Professor of Neurology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Since 1996, he has been an attending neurologist at Columbia University Division of Epilepsy and Sleep Disorders, and was Director of the division from 2008-2021. He has done extensive research in the relationship between epilepsy and sleep and in development of antiseizure drugs, and continues to evaluate patients with epilepsy and sleep disorders.

Dr. Jay Selman is Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics in the Division of Child Neurology/Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). Dr. Selman completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University (St Louis) and then earned an MS in Speech and Hearing Science at the Central Institute for the Deaf, Washington University (St. Louis). During that time he was also on the faculties of New York Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, and Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Selman joined Blythedale Children's Hospital in 2002 and was Chief of Neurology from 2007 - 2018 Current research interests include the care and followup of children with Anti NMDA Receptor Encephalitis and the care of children with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury. He has presented research related to these areas of interest at national and international meetings. He has also developed a database registry for patients with autism. Dr. Selman's areas of clinical practice include headaches and migraine, autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, concussions and head trauma, stroke, spasticity, cerebral palsy, tics and Tourette syndrome.
