Camp Rockaway is a popup campground at the Jacob Riis bathhouse. The camp operated a 6 week pilot at nearby Fort Tilden in 2017, and was at the nearby landmark bathhouse in 2018 and 2019. Both Fort Tilden and Jacob Riis Park are located in Rockaway, within the Gateway Recreation Area of New York and New Jersey. Summer and fall are the perfect seasons to visit Rockaway beach. Camp was great. It's a cool little spot right off the beach. Beautiful tents, comfy beds, and free . Had a great vacation exploring fort tilden and chilling of the beach.

Had an amazing time here, tents were clean and cozy, somewhat rustic but still comfortable and staff was super friendly and helpful. Would totally recommend for a quick escape from the city.
