Buffalo Chess Association

History

BCA was born when Mark Johnson, a tournament player (USCF 1900), began teaching private lessons for a few families during his free time. This quickly snowballed and he brought on his friend John Hanni, another experienced chess player and teacher. As both had worked together in another chess program (and had both been in the same chess club in college) they were a natural team. Since then they have worked together with their instructors to create a curriculum that is beneficial to chess players of all levels.

At BCA we pride ourselves in offering a comprehensive chess curriculum which can benefit players of any skill level. Our classes show students both how to excel in chess, and how to have fun while doing so.
