Bryan Husta, MD, FCCP-MSK Interventional Pulmonologist

I am a board-certified hematologist-oncologist, and my clinical activity and research focus on stem cell transplantation for patients with blood disorders. I trained and worked for many years at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where I was Deputy Chair of the Department of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapies. In May 2010, I joined the faculty of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to lead the Adult Bone Marrow Transplant Service and served as Chief until February 2020.

In my more than four-decade career as a thoracic surgeon at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I have had the privilege of caring for thousands of individuals with lung, mesothelioma, and esophageal cancers.

I am an interventional oncologist, a type of interventional radiologist who uses image-guided, minimally invasive techniques to perform procedures to treat cancer. Rather than making a surgical incision, I perform procedures using miniaturized instruments, many of which are small enough to be used through a needle or catheter. Because of these innovations, many of the procedures I perform use only sedation, without the need of a breathing tube or an overnight stay.
