I went to Bronx park in April by car. It was hard to find street parking nearby so I just had to go to private parking lot. You can also use subway D, 5, 2 train to get there or Metro North stop...

Its a clean park but I would still be careful when walking your dogs. Also for your sake becareful with dog poop as some people do not pick up the dogs doo doo. There are kids that come here but...
