Unbelievable plumbing inventory! Paint and hardware is probably the best in the North Country. If they don't have it you probably won't find it.

Graybar

Graybar Rutland is a full-service branch, with a counter, will call pickup and stocked inventory in an on-site warehouse. First established in 1869, Graybar has since become one of North America's leading commercial lighting suppliers, and a vital link in the supply chain of high-quality electrical supplies. Perhaps our most important mission is to bring energy-efficient solutions to the commercial world, saving both time and money for you, and helping to ease the burden on our environment. Graybar solutions and upgrades not only save on energy consumption but have been shown to reduce the cost of maintenance and improve employee productivity and safety. Over 30 percent of energy used in commercial buildings today is effectively wasted, and every commercial operator stands to benefit from our comprehensive solutions. The upgrades can even pay for themselves plus more in as little as two years. Lighting accounts for more than 25 percent of the energy used in most commercial buildings today. A lighting retrofit is a quick and effective way to cut the energy cost of lighting your existing buildings. Most electrical supplies will install directly into the old fixture housings, minimizing the time and money spent on installation and ceiling repairs. Lighting retrofits will not only boost efficiency, but also improve the quality of light and result in less ambient heat. When planning and designing a new building there are several things you can do to make it energy efficient from the start. Effective daylighting uses natural light from skylights and windows to offset electrical loads during daytime. Designed and implemented properly, it can have a drastic effect on the monthly energy bill. Making use of motion controlled occupancy sensors, manual and daylight controlled dimmer switches, and time scheduling, your building won't be wasting energy by lighting an empty room. Graybar Rutland is the one-stop commercial lighting supplier for end-to-end solutions in lighting, high-end electrical supplies, and project consulting.

Since 1946, Wiley Bros., Inc. has been a Capital Region leader in the supply of quality lumber and building materials to homeowners and contractors alike. In 1946, Henry S. Truman was president of the United States, thousands of men were still streaming home form World War II, and a pound of nails cost five cents at Wiley Brothers Coal, Feed, Lumber, and Hardware. Wiley Bros. is still in business. 2006 marked Wiley Bros.' 60th year and although hardware goliaths like (Lowe's and Home Depot) have long since pitched their tents, Wiley's manages to hold its own and grow. In 1945, two farm boys turned soldiers marched home from war torn Europe. Abbott Wiley was an artillery officer with the 91st Infantry Division in Italy. Harold Wiley, Abbott's younger brother was a B-17 bomber pilot. Home looked good, but with millions being discharged from the armed forces, job prospects didn't. However, it just so happened that Ryan and McMahon, a feed and coal business in Valley Falls wanted to sell out. After working there for a few weeks, the Wiley brothers managed to get financing and purchased the business. The brothers ran a relatively smooth operation for beginners. Perhaps part of their success rested on great military training. "I went into the military a private and came out a major, so I did have some responsibility. I had a hundred men under me. There's no question the army taught me leadership, " Abbott said.
