Borden's Park in Ghent, NY, just outside the Village of Chatham, is a 62-acre conservation area featuring 1.5 miles of packed earth trails that meander through mixed forests and alongside streams, offering stunning views of the Catskill Mountains. Established in 1997 by a dedicated group of citizens, the park aims to protect the natural landscape while providing opportunities for birding, hiking, and community engagement.
The park's trails include the flatter Streamside Trail, which may be muddy in spring, and the Witch Hazel Trail, which features a short steep incline. Visitors are encouraged to explore the diverse wildlife and natural beauty of the area while adhering to guidelines for responsible enjoyment of the land.
