History

Established in 2017. BlockSchool was founded after years of Tony being a kids chess and coding tutor in San Francisco. In order to expand his offering to kids worldwide, he opened an online version of the school in June 2017. Disappointed with many of the coding resources available for young kids specifically, Tony began working with his cofounder Charles to build a 3D block-based world where everything can be coded in fun and creative ways. Fast forward to 2018, BlockSchoool now teaches kids across the US, China, Japan, Korea, and India, and they have received investments and grants from the founder of Codeacademy (the largest online coding school for adults), the South Korean government, and other top investors.
