Joseph Marconni Sewell-Araya, MD, is an esteemed urologist dedicated to providing exceptional care to his patients. Dr. Sewell-Araya received his MD from Escuela Autonoma de Ciencias Medicas in Costa Rica, demonstrating his commitment to a strong foundation in medical education. He completed his first residency year of residency in General Surgery at the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis, followed by a residency in Urology at Universidad De Costa Rica. To further enhance his knowledge and skills, Dr. Sewell-Araya pursued a fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, specializing in Advanced Minimally Invasive Urology and Robotic Surgery. Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of urological conditions including prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer, Enlarged Prostate (BPH), overactive bladder (urinary frequency), erectile dysfunction, and kidney stones. Proficient in providing comprehensive urological care utilizing advanced surgical therapies such as Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP), Green Light Laser, REZUM, Aquablation, Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), semirigid and flexible ureteroscopy. As an Assistant Professor at the prestigious Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, Dr. Sewell-Araya actively contributes to the education and mentorship of future physicians. Dr. Lauren Shikowitz-Behr is a Long Island native, Harvard fellowship-trained, and Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon with expertise in cosmetic surgery of the breast, body, and face, plastic surgery after weight loss, and breastreconstruction. A true New Yorker, Dr. Shikowitz-Behr graduated with honors fromNew York University and subsequently went on to receive her medical degree fromAlbert Einstein College of Medicine. She was then accepted into the integratedPlastic Surgery residency program at Northwell Health where she trained in the fullbreadth of plastic surgery from complex microsurgical reconstruction to intricateaesthetic surgery and served as chief resident. Dr. Shikowitz-Behr was then selectedto complete a highly specialized fellowship in advanced cosmetic and reconstructivebreast surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital, where she also served as anassistant instructor in plastic surgery for the Harvard Medical School.Dr. Shikowitz-Behr is dedicated to advancing the field of plastic surgery. Her clinicalresearch has been presented at regional and national meetings, and she has multiplepublications in peer-reviewed journals.
