Berry Houses - NYCHA

Berry Houses is named after Brig. Gen. Charles W. Berry (1871-1941), who was both a soldier & physician. Berry gave up both careers to serve under three mayors as the NYC Comptroller. Berry Houses consists of eight, six-story buildings with 506 apartments. Completed October 27, 1950, 13.89-acres.
