Thanks for visiting our profile - here are some reasons why to choose us for your dental needs. Like most areas of life technology keeps improving and changing. The Buffalo dental group has remained committed to be being the leaders in Dental Care in Western New York. We have pioneered and have been the leaders in bringing many of the technological advances in dental care to the Buffalo area. We have only one standard of care in our practice. How would we treat a member of our family if they were being treated in our office? We never compromise in our care. We firmly believe that every patient should receive the finest dental care that we can provide. It sounds quite simple, but isn't? That is how it should be. The Doctors of the Buffalo Dental Group are continually updating their knowledge. Dentistry is a rapidly changing field that requires a commitment to ongoing education. Technology, techniques, and equipment are constantly changing and developing, bringing ongoing improvements to dental health care. This requires attending numerous dental courses and meetings throughout the United States. On many occasions vacations are spent attending dental courses. It is not easy, but it is worth it. It allows our practice to bring the most progressive care to our patients. Traditionally, dental care has focused on silver fillings and crowns (caps). It has required the removal, or grinding down of a great deal of your tooth structure. Since 1993, the Buffalo Dental Group has eliminated the use of silver mercury fillings and the need for most crowns (caps) from both our dental practice and our patient’s mouths. Our focus is on removing only the decayed or damaged portion of a tooth. We feel that the more of your tooth that can be preserved, the stronger it will be, and the more options that will be preserved for the future. Both Air abrasion and dental lasers greatly reduce the need for dreaded drilling and allow us to preserve much more of your natural tooth. In many situations, we can restore teeth to their original appearance without the need for an anesthetic and shots. Once a crown always a crown: When a tooth is ground down for a crown, no other options exist for a more conservative replacement. That tooth is doomed to have a crown on it either for life, or until the tooth is lost. Crowns do fail, they are not forever. They likely will need to be replaced. They are still subject to decay at the point where the crown meets the tooth, the gum line can pull back (recede) exposing an unsightly dark line, and the porcelain can fracture. On occasion the whole tooth can break off in the crown making the tooth un-saveable. This ideal restoration in the eyes of most dentists really seems to be less than ideal.
