Arezou Heshmati, MD is an associate professor of neurology and pediatrics at the CUIMC, in the Department of Neurology, Division of Child Neurology. Dr. Heshmati completed medical school at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. She underwent pediatric neurology residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and fellowship training in Sleep Medicine at Wayne State University. Previoulsy, Dr. Heshmati practiced pediatric neurology and sleep medicine as an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, where she developed a clinical and research interest in pediatric sleep disorders and narcolepsy patients. She is board certified in Pediatrics, Sleep Medicine, and Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology. Dr. Heshmati sees both inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology patients, and is developing and expanding a Pediatric Neurology Sleep Program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Dr. Jay Selman is Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics in the Division of Child Neurology/Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). During that time he was also on the faculties of New York Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, and Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Selman joined Blythedale Children's Hospital in 2002 and was Chief of Neurology from 2007 - 2018 Current research interests include the care and followup of children with Anti NMDA Receptor Encephalitis and the care of children with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury. He has presented research related to these areas of interest at national and international meetings. He has also developed a database registry for patients with autism. Dr. Selman's areas of clinical practice include headaches and migraine, autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, concussions and head trauma, stroke, spasticity, cerebral palsy, tics and Tourette syndrome.
