History

Aponte Watch Services founder Juan Ysidro Aponte's journey began many decades ago in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, when at a mere 14 years of age he began apprenticing under a Swiss tradition watchmaker, and through years of diligence and dedication he acquired an unparallelled knowledge and expertise in the field of watch making and watch repair. In 1989 Juan ventured to New York City where Aponte Watch Services was instituted in the Diamond District of Manhattan. Since opening his doors that same year Juan has garnered a widespread reputation throughout the city and beyond for his superior workmanship. Today, Aponte Watch Services continues to thrive in the Diamond District. Juan currently works along side his son, Ozzy, and has shared with him not only the vast knowledge of his craft, but additionally has instilled in him what he believes to be the bedrock of his success: dedication, a steadfast work ethic, and genuine respect and appreciation for every client.
