Amherst Middle School

Amherst Central School District comprises Windermere Boulevard and Smallwood Drive elementary schools, Amherst Middle School, and Amherst Central High School. A comprehensive educational program is offered to all students, including those needing special education. Each elementary school serves more than 600 students from kindergarten through grade five. The middle school, built in 1955, has an enrollment of more than 700 students in grades six to eight. Amherst High School provides education to students in grades nine to 12, and offers a variety of subjects, including advanced placement courses. The district, located in Amherst, N.Y., also provides music and art programs, and a full-range of interscholastic and intramural athletic opportunities. It also supports and maintains playground facilities at Windermere and Smallwood elementary schools. Amherst Central School District employs more than 250 faculty members and has a total staff of over 500 people.
