He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, the nation s oldest medical school and one of its most prestigious. He is the recipient of research grants from the National Institutes of Health and the American Cancer Society.In 1980, Dr. Adlersberg left the world of the laboratory and clinical research to practice medicine in Manhattan. He is one of the most experienced physicians in New York in the use of biologic drugs for the treatment of severe rheumatoid arthritis and other conditions involving destructive inflammation.Dr. Adlersberg has been voted one of the best doctors in New York repeatedly by New York Magazine and the Castle Connelly Guide. On Oct 17th, 2003, he was honored by the Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn NY as Journalist of the Year at a ceremony in Brooklyn attended by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.
