Studio Sway

Starlet Dance Studio was founded in 1959 by Bonnie Star, hence the name Starlet. Two years later, Wynette Smith joined the studio as a teacher and later became the owner. For over four decades, Wynette has been teaching Albuquerque how to dance. Starlet offers a wide variety of classes in a friendly, inclusive environment. The studio ballet company, Danse Classique Theatre de Los Ranchos, provides opportunities for dancers who wish to perform in studio productions. Every year in December Starlet produces a full-scale version of the popular ballet, the Nutcracker. Performance in the Nutcracker is open to all dancers who take classes at Starlet. Since the first performance in 2005, the production has delighted audiences and provided dancers with a once-in-a lifetime performance experience.
